Romcom lifted my hopes in the human race, a little, so I went in public. And I felt okay at the time… But now that I’m home and thinking and the hope seems to be draining from me again, I feel down.
So now I have to watch another romcom.

I’m in a romcom mood. And I just started “When in Rome”. The first scene with the piemaker? Where he {the heroine’s ex boyfrined} address her in public to say that she has helped him realize that he’s ready to accept a workaholic like her and ready to plunge in to take the next step… BUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE. Yeah. I just rattled off cuss words in my head....
ACTUALLY. JUST. HAPPENED
{an older woman in the office comes to my desk and plays with my hair... her reflection in my computer screen tells me she seems unnerved}
Me: ... You playing with my hair? : )
Woman: No... this... {trails off}
Me: Is there something wrong with it?
Woman: This isn't your hair, is it?
Me: ..........Yes...?
Woman: Well, can't we do something with it! The way you've got it fixed...
Me: What's wrong?
Woman: Well, can't we wash and curl it? Right away!
Me: ...No... I'm about to work outside all day... .....No.
Woman: Really?
Me: No... I'm working outside today. This is fine. Really.
